One plan per provider: the cheapest that covers 100 GB and meets the job's requirements. 21 priced plans do not say whether they have rotating IPs and no cap on connections at once, so they are left out rather than counted as meeting it (9Proxy, Bright Data, DataImpulse, Decodo, Geonode, LightningProxies, MarsProxies, Massive, NodeMaven, SOAX, Squid Proxies and Webshare).

Scraping sends many requests at once, each from a different address, so the plan must rotate IPs and must not cap how many connections run at the same time. The table above lists the cheapest plans whose providers say they offer both, priced at 100 GB. Plans whose pages do not say whether they cap connections are left out rather than assumed to have no cap.

Work out how much traffic you need

Multiply the pages you collect in a month by the size of a page and by your retries. A job that fetches 200,000 pages a month at 2 MB each, with one retry in ten, needs about 440 GB; fetching the page’s HTML without its images and scripts can cut that several times over. How much bandwidth does web scraping use? gives the median page sizes the web has, and the “How much do I need?” box on the residential comparison does the sum with your own numbers.

Why a cap on connections matters

A scraper runs many requests side by side to finish in hours rather than days. A plan that allows only a set number of connections at once slows the job to that number, however much traffic you bought; past it, requests wait or fail. Concurrency limits explains how providers word the cap, and thread limits the plans priced by it instead of by traffic.

Datacenter first, residential where it is needed

Many sites answer datacenter addresses as readily as home ones, and datacenter traffic costs far less; try your targets on datacenter proxies before you buy residential. Residential traffic earns its price on sites that block hosting companies’ addresses (proxy IP reputation) or show different pages by region.

When a proxy is not the cheaper route

  • A scraping API or unblocker picks the proxy, retries, renders the page if needed, and bills only the pages that came back. Where many first attempts are blocked, it can cost less per page you keep: smart proxy routing and unblockers shows how they are priced, and cost per successful request compares the two with your own success rate.
  • The site’s own API or data export, where it has one, is usually cheaper and steadier than scraping its pages.

What the table does not tell you

It ranks plans by cost and by what their providers say they offer. It does not measure block rates, speed or how many addresses you reach on your targets; we do not test those. Try your own target sites on a trial first, and check the target’s terms before you collect from it.

Setting it up

Most scrapers log in to a rotating gateway with a user name and password, or from an allowed address (proxy authentication); HTTP and SOCKS5 both work for ordinary web pages (HTTP vs SOCKS5).

Price monitoring is scraping on a schedule, where expiry matters more than connections. Collecting at a much larger scale is on AI training data. Price your own amount on the residential comparison.

Price it for your amount

Today's checkout totals, every billing type competing. Change the amount to recalculate.

Only plans with this job's requirements compete here, as in the table at the top: rotating IPs and no cap on connections at once. Choose another proxy type to compare every plan of that type.
