One plan per provider: the cheapest that covers 25 GB and meets the job's requirements. 17 priced plans do not say whether they have rotating IPs, country targeting and traffic that lasts 30 days or more, so they are left out rather than counted as meeting it (Bright Data, Decodo, Infatica, LightningProxies, Massive, Oxylabs, Proxy-Seller, Squid Proxies, Thordata and Webshare).

Brand protection means looking, again and again, for your products and names where they should not be: counterfeits on marketplaces, copies of your site, ads bidding on your brand, sellers outside your distribution. What a shopper is shown depends on where they shop from, so the sweep has to run from each country you sell in, from addresses a marketplace treats as ordinary shoppers, and week after week. The table above lists the cheapest plans whose providers say they offer rotating IPs, country targeting and traffic that lasts a month or more, priced at 25 GB.

What each requirement is for

  • Rotating IPs, because a sweep runs many searches and listing pages in a row, and a marketplace limits how much one address may ask for (static vs rotating proxies).
  • Country targeting, because a marketplace’s local site, its search results and the sellers it shows differ by country. No provider we track adds a fee for choosing a country (does country targeting cost extra?).
  • Traffic that lasts a month, because the work is a weekly or monthly routine, not a single job, and traffic that expires in days is lost between sweeps (is non-expiring traffic worth it?).

Work out how much traffic you need

Count the searches and listing pages a sweep opens, times their size. Ten brand searches in 10 countries, opening the first 20 listings of each at 1.5 MB a page, is about 3 GB a sweep; weekly, that is about 13 GB a month, and 25 GB leaves room for more countries or marketplaces. Saving the listing’s text and its images’ addresses, not the images, uses less.

When a proxy is not the cheaper route

Finding a listing is half the job; removing it goes through the marketplace. eBay’s Verified Rights Owner program “allows rights owners to seamlessly report listings that may infringe on their rights”, and rights owners can publish a free participant page about the rights they protect (eBay). Check whether each marketplace you watch runs a programme like it, and enrol before you build a sweep around it: its reporting tools are the route a listing comes down by. Where many first attempts are blocked, a scraping API that bills only the pages that come back can cost less per page kept (smart proxy routing and unblockers).

What the table does not tell you

It ranks plans by cost and by what their providers say they offer. It does not measure how often each marketplace blocks a provider’s addresses; we do not test that. Check each marketplace’s terms on automated searches before you run a sweep against it.

Price monitoring watches your own resellers’ prices. Ad verification checks where your ads, and ads that use your brand, appear. Price your own amount on the residential comparison.
