One plan per provider: the cheapest that covers 5 GB and meets the job's requirements, priced at any extra rate the provider charges for city targeting. The pages of anyIP list what their plans offer without at least one of these, so they are left out too; ask the provider if you need it there. 20 priced plans do not say whether they have city targeting and traffic that lasts 30 days or more, so they are left out rather than counted as meeting it (Bright Data, Decodo, Infatica, LightningProxies, Massive, Oxylabs, Proxy-Seller, Squid Proxies, Thordata and Webshare).

When your own site changes by where a visitor is (the language it opens in, the prices and currency it shows, a redirect to a country store, a page blocked in some regions), you have to see it from those places to check it. Testing comes in bursts, a few GB at a time, so the plan should let you pick the city as well as the country, and its traffic should still be there next month. The table above lists the cheapest plans whose providers say they offer both, priced at 5 GB, with any extra the provider charges for city targeting included.

Use case · The live comparison uses prices checked up to Oct 24, 2026; every figure in the text keeps the date it was checked.

First, find out how your site decides where a visitor is

  • By the browser’s location, the permission prompt a weather or delivery site shows: you need no proxy. Chrome’s developer tools can stand in for any place: “To override your geolocation, open the Sensors panel” and choose a preset city or “Custom location” with your own coordinates (Chrome for Developers). This changes what the page is told, not the address it sees.
  • By the visitor’s IP address, the usual way for country redirects, local prices and regional blocks: the request has to come from an address in that place, and that is what a proxy gives you. Proxy location accuracy explains why an address can be placed in the wrong city, and what to do about it.
  • By a header or cookie your own code sets, such as a country picker: set it in your test and you need neither.

Work out how much traffic you need

A test visit is a few pages, each the size of your own pages with their images and scripts. Checking 20 pages in 30 places at 3 MB a page is about 1.8 GB; 5 GB covers a few rounds of that. Traffic that never expires, or that lasts a month or more, keeps what one round leaves over for the next (is non-expiring traffic worth it?).

When a proxy is not the cheaper route

  • A browser testing service that runs your tests from other countries. BrowserStack, for one, says its IP geolocation sends traffic “from an IP address hosted in the country you have chosen”, in 60+ countries, for checks such as “localized pricing, languages, product listings”; it comes with its multi-user plans (Team, Team Pro and Enterprise) for testing by hand, and with Enterprise for automated tests (BrowserStack). If your team already pays for one, use it.
  • A datacenter address in the country is enough where your site only reads the country, not the kind of connection, and costs far less (datacenter proxy prices).

What the table does not tell you

It ranks plans by cost and by what their providers say they offer. It does not test how accurately each provider’s addresses are placed in a city; we do not measure that. Check the place a lookup service gives for your address before you trust a city-level result.

Ad verification checks how ads appear by city and network. SEO and SERP tracking checks search results by place. Price your own amount on the residential comparison.

Price it for your amount

Only plans with this job's requirements compete here, as in the table at the top: city targeting and traffic that lasts 30 days or more. Choose another proxy type to compare every plan of that type.
