Residential proxies for video streaming
Today, checked up to Oct 24, 2026: 35 of the 55 residential plans priced at 50 GB say they offer country targeting and traffic that lasts 30 days or more. The cheapest is Geonode at $34.65, and 6 of the ten cheapest providers at 50 GB have a plan that does.
An hour of Full HD video at 5 Mbps is about 2.25 GB, so on that plan an hour costs about $1.56 ($0.69 a GB at 50 GB).

One plan per provider: the cheapest that covers 50 GB and meets the job's requirements. 17 priced plans do not say whether they have country targeting and traffic that lasts 30 days or more, so they are left out rather than counted as meeting it (Bright Data, Decodo, IPBurger, Infatica, LightningProxies, Massive, Oxylabs, Proxy-Seller, Squid Proxies, Thordata and Webshare).
Teams that check how a video service, its catalogue or its video ads look in each market they serve have to watch from each country, and video is the heaviest traffic a proxy carries. Netflix’s terms recommend “at least 5.0 Mbps per stream” for Full HD and at least 15.0 Mbps for Ultra HD (Netflix Terms of Use). At 5 Mbps an hour is 18,000 megabits, about 2.25 GB; at 15 Mbps, about 6.75 GB. On a plan billed by the gigabyte, that turns every hour of viewing into a price. The table above lists the cheapest plans whose providers say they offer country targeting and traffic that lasts a month or more, priced at 50 GB, about 22 hours of Full HD.

What a proxy does not change
A streaming service licenses its catalogue country by country, and its terms bind the account, not the address. Netflix’s say you may access its content “primarily within the country in which you have established your account and only in geographic locations where we offer your subscription plan and have licensed such content” (Netflix Terms of Use). Changing your address does not change which country your account belongs to or what it is licensed to watch. This page prices the traffic for checking a service in its own markets; it is not a way round a service’s terms.
What each requirement is for
- Country targeting, because what a service shows, from its catalogue to its prices and its ads, depends on the country it sees. Most providers we track charge the same rate whichever country you choose (do some countries cost more?).
- Traffic that lasts a month, because checks of this kind come back with each release or campaign, and traffic that expires in days is lost between them (is non-expiring traffic worth it?).
Work out how much traffic you need
Count the minutes you watch in each market, times the rate. Twenty titles checked for five minutes each, in five countries, is a little over eight hours: about 19 GB at Full HD. Checking at HD (720p), for which Netflix’s terms give a minimum of 3.0 Mbps per stream, uses about 40% less, and checking the start of each title and its ads rather than whole episodes less again.
When a per-GB plan is not the cheaper route
For hours of viewing from one country, an address rented by the month can cost less than traffic bought by the gigabyte: many static residential (ISP) plans are priced per IP, and many of their providers’ pages call the traffic unlimited. Compare the ISP prices for one IP against the hour price above, and check on the provider’s page that the IP’s traffic is not capped (fair-use ceilings). If the service you check is your own, its test tools or a device in the market may cost less than either.
What the table does not tell you
It ranks plans by cost and by what their providers say they offer. It does not measure the speed of a provider’s addresses, which decides whether a stream plays at Full HD at all; we do not test speed. Several providers block streaming sites themselves, or open them only after an ID check, and plans from a provider whose own list blocks them are left out (the sites proxy providers block). It is not advice on any service’s terms: read them before you watch through a proxy.
