One plan per provider: the cheapest that covers 10 GB and meets the job's requirements. 17 priced plans do not say whether they have rotating IPs and traffic that lasts 30 days or more, so they are left out rather than counted as meeting it (Bright Data, Decodo, Infatica, LightningProxies, Massive, Oxylabs, Proxy-Seller, Thordata and Webshare).
Collecting stock market data means fetching the same kinds of pages, quotes, filings and company news, on a schedule, for a list of companies. Before you price a proxy, check whether the data comes free from its source. For U.S. company filings it does. The SEC’s APIs on data.sec.gov deliver filings and company financial data as JSON, and “These APIs do not require any authentication or API keys to access”; they are “updated throughout the day, in real time, as submissions are disseminated”, with a bulk file of everything republished nightly (SEC). The table above lists the cheapest plans whose providers say they offer rotating IPs and traffic that lasts a month or more, for what the SEC does not cover, priced at 10 GB.

On this page
The SEC’s limit is for everyone
The SEC sets one rate for all users: “Current max request rate: 10 requests/second”, and asks automated tools to declare who they are in their User-Agent header, for example Sample Company Name AdminContact@<sample company domain>.com (SEC). It also says it “does not allow botnets or automated tools to crawl the site” outside that policy. A proxy pool does not belong here: keep to the rate from your own address, or download the nightly bulk file.
Where a proxy fits
Quotes, charts and news on finance portals are not covered by the SEC’s files, and a portal limits how much one address may fetch. A schedule that reads a page per company, every trading day, runs many requests in a row, which is the job rotating IPs are for (static vs rotating proxies). For real-time prices, a market data provider’s API is the route built for the job. Read each site’s terms on automated access before you schedule it.
What each requirement is for
- Rotating IPs, so a daily round of pages does not come from one address.
- Traffic that lasts a month, because the work runs every trading day, and traffic that expires in days is lost between rounds (is non-expiring traffic worth it?).
Work out how much traffic you need
Count the pages a round opens, times their size, times the trading days. Two hundred companies, one quote page each at 1.5 MB, over 22 trading days is about 6.6 GB a month. Fetching a portal’s data endpoint instead of the full page, where its terms allow, uses far less.
What the table does not tell you
It ranks plans by cost and by what their providers say they offer. It does not measure how often a portal blocks a provider’s addresses; we do not test that. It is not investment or legal advice.
