Thread limits: parallel work can select the paid tier
A thread limit is the maximum number of parallel connections a plan permits under the provider’s published wording. It changes the bill when the buyer must select a larger package to run the required number of workers at once. A cheaper plan that cannot support the workload is not a cheaper way to run it. It is a different capacity, and assigning it unrestricted threads would understate the qualifying checkout.
The thread count that selects a Storm Proxies plan
Storm Proxies names three monthly Backconnect rotating plans by their thread capacity. The 10-thread plan costs $14 per month, the 40-thread plan costs $39 per month, and the 80-thread plan costs $59 per month. A workload that needs 35 simultaneous workers does not fit the 10-thread plan. The first named monthly plan that covers it is Backconnect rotating 40 threads monthly at $39. The thread requirement therefore changes the qualifying checkout from $14 to $39. Buying the lower tier and assuming the other 25 workers will run is not a price comparison. Thread limits need a scope. A cap can apply per proxy, per port, per access IP, or across the whole account. It can also differ from a concurrent-session limit even when one provider uses the words interchangeably. The multiplier belongs in a comparison only when the provider states it. A plan with 100 threads per proxy is not automatically a 1,000-thread plan unless the purchase includes 10 eligible proxies and the rule applies independently to each.
Publication coverage and the three states
In the current dataset, 15 of 47 providers publish a numeric or explicitly unrestricted threads_max rule on at least one plan. Those values appear on 206 of 710 rows. The remaining 32 providers have no published thread rule in the collected plan evidence. Current thread-limit publication count
The distinction between an explicit unrestricted rule and null is essential. An unrestricted value means the provider says it does not impose a thread cap for that named offer, although fair-use, speed, or other capacity rules may still apply. Null means the thread limit was not published. It cannot pass a buyer’s thread requirement and cannot be rendered as unrestricted.
Before comparing bills, write the required parallel workload as a range and check the plan at both ends. Confirm whether the stated number covers threads, sessions, ports, or several of these together. Then retain the provider’s exact scope beside the price. If the limit changes with traffic, purchased IP count, or plan tier, calculate every qualifying configuration rather than attaching the largest capacity to the cheapest row.
