Where the winner changes

The first two changes come from entry-package boundaries. At 1 GB, Webshare costs $3.50 while the covering 9Proxy package costs $15. At 2 GB, 9Proxy stays at $15 while Webshare moves to $27.50, so 9Proxy takes the lead. That result still holds at 5 GB. The middle crossing is between 20 and 50 GB. Webshare is cheaper at 20 GB, where the comparison is $65 against $105. At 50 GB, 9Proxy is cheaper at $105 against $122.50. The important point is the direction change. The high-volume ladder changes twice. 9Proxy wins at 100 GB with $150 against $225. Webshare wins at 250 GB with $500 against $800. At 500 GB, 9Proxy’s covering package remains $800 while Webshare reaches $875, so 9Proxy wins again. Why the ladder behaves this way

This comparison charges the whole public package needed to cover each request. It does not multiply a headline unit rate through gaps between package sizes. That treatment matters because 9Proxy keeps the same covering package across several sampled volumes, then jumps at a package boundary. Webshare has a different set of boundaries, so its total can pass below and above the 9Proxy total several times.

The commercial terms also differ. The captured 9Proxy traffic package has a 180-day expiry. The captured Webshare offer is billed monthly. Webshare publishes country and city filtering, while 9Proxy publishes country, state, city, and ISP targeting. Webshare’s captured row does not publish a rollover on the provider’s page state or a concurrent-session count. Those fields remain not published, and the lower price at a rung does not fill them in.

Forecast error has an unusually large consequence here because four of the five brackets sit beside broad package steps. A workload estimated at 20 GB should not inherit the 50 GB answer, and a workload estimated at 250 GB should not inherit the 500 GB answer. Use measured traffic from a representative billing period, include retry traffic and failed requests, and rerun the covering-package comparison when that forecast moves into another bracket. The table is a decision ladder, not a substitute for estimating usage.
